The Operations Support Personnel is a cornerstone of DDRP ensuring seamless operations and security. The Operations Support Personnel plays a crucial role in supporting, detecting, responding to security incidents, maintaining a safe environment, preventing unauthorized activities, and executing operational activities within DDRP premises.

The primary responsibility of the Operations Support Personnel is to provide onsite support for the day-to-day operations and programming needs (physical plant, meal service, equipment, patient movement, transportation, supplies). In addition, these personnel are responsible for monitoring and analyzing video surveillance footage to ensure the safety and security of DDRP premises, assets, and personnel. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong problem‑solving skills, excellent communication abilities, keen observation skills, the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality, and a proactive approach to addressing operational challenges.

This position will include travel and serve as backup to the Psychiatric Technicians.

Your Role in Action
  • Supports the Operations Manager in coordinating and prioritizing tasks across different operational areas such as:
  • Receiving of meals and delivery to appropriate dorms.
  • Receiving, storing and distribution of supplies.
  • Patient movement.
  • Transport to medical clinic on campus.
  • Transport to outside appointment off campus.
  • Facilitating searches (person, property, dorms, grounds, etc.) randomly, as well as for cause at intake and upon return from transport.
  • Participates in facility inspections to ensure related lock mechanisms, housing units and all surrounding grounds are clean, safe, and secure.
  • Prepares reports of needed repairs and submits to Operations Manager.
  • Accompanies contractors who come on‑site to ensure work orders are completed.
  • Participates in facility inspections conducted by outside agencies.
  • Monitors equipment (TVs, computers, phones), reports problems to Operations Manager or designee, and forwards requests for work orders or delivery.
  • Monitors inventory of equipment.
Video Surveillance Monitoring
  • Monitors live video feeds and recorded footage from security cameras and the facility surveillance systems.
  • Maintains constant vigilance to identify potential security/safety threats, suspicious activities or violations of security protocols and procedures.
  • Identifies and promptly responds to security/safety incidents, including unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, or any other suspicious activities. Takes appropriate actions as per established protocols and procedures.
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records of security/safety incidents, observations, and actions taken. Prepares incident reports, logbooks, and other documentation as required by the organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that systems are functioning correctly and reports any malfunctions to the appropriate manager for a timely resolution.
Psychiatric Technician Duties/Tasks
  • Promotes a physically and emotionally safe environment and communicates information concerning health and/or safety hazards to appropriate staff/authorities.
  • Encourages patients to practice proper/basic hygiene care such as eating, bathing, and dressing.
  • Teaches and encourages basic daily living skills.
  • Provides behavioral emergency assistance, such as Handle with Care III and basic first aid.
  • Reports homicidal or suicidal behaviors.
  • Monitors and documents behavior of patients.
  • Performs duties (e.g., vital signs, specimen collection, etc.) as delegated by nursing personnel or assigned by a physician.
