OR Materials Management Attendant (evenings)

Memorial Hermann Health System invites applications for the OR Materials Management Attendant (evenings) position.

Job Summary: Responsible for receiving, distributing, and reconciling materials within the Materials Management department, maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities:

• Receive all materials, unpacking/uncrating items, and verifying accuracy against packing slips and purchase orders.
• Conduct research, follow‑up, and problem resolution as required, including contacting vendors for shipping errors or unacceptable conditions.
• Document requisitions for items received and back‑ordered; attach requisitions to items and forward to the appropriate department.
• Ship items to the appropriate department, maintain backup inventories in the materials holding area, and fill and distribute orders as requested.
• Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications.
• Promote professional growth by meeting mandatory/continuing education and skill competency requirements; serve as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
• Demonstrate commitment to caring for every member of the community by providing compassionate and personalized service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• Experience:
  
  At least one (1) year of materials management experience.
• Skills:
  
  Basic math and computer skills; ability to work with minimal supervision; demonstrated initiative.
