Day Shift Machine Operator

Job Summary

Bongards’ Creameries is seeking a Day Shift Machine Operator based out of our Humboldt facility. The machine operator is responsible for operating and troubleshooting various machines involved in cheese making processes. This is an Entry Level position where the candidate will operate machines on a rotating basis with the goal of a permanent production position.

• Understands and follows set protocols for PPE and Cleanliness (Handwashing, Uniform, Tools, etc)
• Operation of various machines (filler, casting line, wrapper, former, grinder, massman etc)
• Monitor quality of boxes, pouches, labels and communicate to other operators
• Unwrap barrels, ensure cheese packages are made correctly
• Ensure dry ingredients are placed on pallet according to the blend sheet
• Open cheese packages and place in rework containers
• Assist with Cleaning and Sanitizing of machines and areas after production is finished
• Keep work area neat, clean and organized
• Work in a safe, efficient manner in a fast paced environment
• Other duties as assigned

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Excellent Math, Reading and Writing skills
• Strong communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
• Ability to work independently on assigned duties

• Mechanical aptitude
• Knowledge of computers
• Must adhere to and follow all Safety, GMP, other quality guidelines
• Must report all food safety problems to immediate supervisor or designated replacement
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs

• Day Shift 5:30am to 6:00pm Monday – Friday, frequent Saturdays
