Lead Associate Kitchen

Position Overview

Title: Kitchen Lead / FT Lead Associate Kitchen (Open availability including weekends/holidays required)

The GIANT Company is committed to serving our communities across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Viking and New Jersey. This role involves preparing and managing ready‑to‑serve foods, ensuring food safety compliance, and supporting customer service on the sales floor.

• Review work schedule, equipment, supplies, and PPE at shift start.
• Plan production and manage prep for warmers, hot bar, and grab‑and‑go sections.
• Prepare sandwiches, subs, wraps, pizza, fried and roasted chicken, and other deli items per SOP and Plan‑o‑Gram.
• Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, tools, equipment, display cases, floors, and counters.
• Complete food safety compliance logs, track and record loss using known loss tracking (KLT), and maintain inventory records.
• Train team members and support performance standards.
• Handle projected sales and merchandising execution for all prepared‑food programs.
• Maintain proper lifting procedures and ensure safety protocols, including first aid response directions.

• Report accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions promptly.
• Maintain PPE and company apparel policies.
• Follow lock‑out/tag‑out, confined‑space, and right‑to‑know training requirements.
• Operate in a smoke‑free environment; use assigned smoking areas.
• Adhere to emergency evacuation routes and safety procedures.

• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to communicate, understand company policies, and complete duties in a satisfactory manner.
• Meet ergonomic and physical requirements as specified.
• Maintain regular attendance and meet performance standards.
• Ability to use or learn to use prepared‑food equipment and tools.

• Shift hours: minimum 4‑hour shifts, based on business needs.
• Lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
• Stand 55 % of shift, walk 45 %, sit 0 %.
• Exposure to varied temperature environments.
• Category IV lifting up to 50 lbs.

• Prior experience in retail food service and food safety.
