Key Responsibilities- Create Upper School schedule (May–June)
- Review handbook and make necessary changes with principal and Dean of Students
- Oversee Drop/Add (July–August)
- Monitor grades
- Monitor graduation requirements for juniors and seniors
- Oversee Athletic Probation – contact teachers, coaches, and parents
- Oversee excessive attendance – contact students with warnings and final decisions
- Oversee Saturday School – coordinate teachers, contact students and parents, and find proctor
- Develop a tutor network to offer to parents
- Meet with students who are struggling academically
- Work closely with ADC on their students
- Meet with new Upper School teachers during Orientation
- Serve as the frontline Dean of Students during the 10 months when students are on campus
- Review handbook at the end of the year and make changes with principal and academic dean
- Monitor student behavior during the school year
- First contact for teachers
- Meet with students with infractions
- Review students’ behavior in Renweb
- Contact parents when necessary
- Oversee DAC (Discipline Action Committee) for the Upper School
- Rotate teachers on and off committee; arrange meetings when necessary
- Attend all Middle School meetings
- Inform principal when behaviors elevate to DAC, ISS, or suspension level
- Monitor tardies and early morning tardy detention
- Position self on the rolling cart in the hallway whenever possible
- Monitor vape detectors
- Oversee Saturday Service – find teacher to monitor, contact students and parents
- Help teachers with behavior strategies, cell phone policy, and dress code
- Lunch duty every Wednesday
- A master’s degree in educational leadership, administration, or a related field is highly preferred; a bachelor’s degree is required.
- At least five years of experience in a leadership role, preferably at the upper school level or in JK‑12 education.
