About

the Role

The Sr. Operations Controller plays a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the financial and operational performance within a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to support strategic decision‑making and operational efficiency. The role requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams including production, supply chain, and finance to monitor key performance indicators and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

The Sr. Operations Controller will lead efforts to identify cost‑saving opportunities and enhance process controls to maximize profitability. Ultimately, this position ensures that operational activities align with corporate financial goals while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Good working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • 8 to 10 years financial / managerial experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High competency in Microsoft Excel, specifically the ability to build analytical models when required.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a dynamic fast‑paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Must have a high level of moral and ethical codes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5-10 years SAP experience preferred.
  • CMA/CPA preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Accuracy of manufacturing standard cost. Responsible for annual standard cost development including activity rates, ensuring correct bill of materials and labor routing, and consistency in master data through all plants.
  • Reports variances to standards that supervisors and managers can understand and take corrective actions.
  • Partner with Operations to drive productivity and cost saving initiatives. Support make vs. buy analysis.
  • Partner with business and maintain responsibility for operating cost centers including planning, forecasting and cost control.
  • Oversight of inventory transactions and accuracy, responsible for cycle count process to ensure proper financial adjustments and coverage during the year for all plants.
  • Partner with Operations for periodic slow moving and obsolete inventory review and define actions to improve working capital.
  • Responsible for assigned month end Controlling closing tasks.
  • Maintain assigned internal control tasks and on time completion monthly.
  • Assist in budgeting process.
  • Product lines profitability analysis.

The Sr. Operations Controller utilizes strong analytical skills daily to interpret complex financial and operational data, enabling informed decision‑making and strategic planning. Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel allows for efficient management of budgeting, forecasting, and reporting tasks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with cross‑functional teams and presenting financial insights to senior leadership. Knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement techniques supports the identification and implementation of cost‑saving initiatives.

Additionally, familiarity with data visualization tools enhances the ability to convey key performance metrics and trends clearly to stakeholders.
