Job Purpose and SummaryAs a Pharmacy Manager, you will lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices and leading through change while identifying and addressing performance opportunities. You will oversee prescription fulfillment, patient counseling, immunizations, inventory, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities- Live our purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
- Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening performance measures through coaching and follow‑up.
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by enforcing pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, collaborating with the healthcare team, and resolving insurance and medication issues.
- Proactively offer immunizations and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize.
- Manage pharmacy inventory with a focus on protecting cold chain products.
- Conduct onboarding for new Technicians and Pharmacists, ensuring timely completion of required training and licensure.
- Maintain compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating issues as needed.
- Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues.
- Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, manage performance through observation, feedback, and annual reviews.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, and help write or delegate pharmacy scheduling.
- Review business reporting for operational insights and develop action plans to close gaps.
- Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, building psychological safety and encouraging feedback.
- Maintain clinical and technical skills through required trainings and CEUs, seeking opportunities to expand knowledge.
- Support patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception).
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, ethics, and CVS Health policies, ensuring patient safety and protecting privacy.
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
- 1‑2 years of experience as a Pharmacist.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program.
- 3‑5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business need.
38 hours
Pay Range$65.00 - $85.00 per hour (base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary). This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive program.
