Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician

Under minimal supervision, apply electrical skills in order to perform corrective and preventative maintenance for production, fabrication, service equipment, and facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Read electrical schematics, hardwire/relay logic, hands‑on exposure to automation and PLCs
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Experience with 480

    VAC, 120V AC, 24

    VDC and 4‑20mA systems
  • Interpret schematics, blueprints, and PI&D drawings
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate and repair; devise and improvise; make corrections or adjustments; use tools and testing devices to maintain equipment under direction of the Maintenance Manager
  • In‑depth PLC knowledge; root cause analysis
  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on production equipment, facilities equipment, laboratory equipment, and testing equipment
  • Identify ways to improve the maintenance program through continuous improvement techniques, technology, and knowledge sharing
  • Maintain awareness of new systems and techniques to upgrade existing equipment and processes
  • Knowledge of safe working practices such as lock‑out tag‑out, confined space, PPE, NFPA arc flash
  • Follow safety procedures to prevent injuries and avoid damage to company property
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance; complete and maintain all required reports
  • Effectively communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co‑workers to achieve company goals and objectives
Other Functions
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and organized
  • Routinely check tools to keep them in proper working order
  • Help maintain inventory of repair parts and supplies
Physical Demands & Environmental
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stretching, reaching, crawling, squatting, and lying in prone position
  • Occasional pushing or pulling using medium force
  • Speak clearly and distinctly; hear clearly (including listening to equipment sounds)
  • Color vision to distinguish color‑coded electrical wiring
  • Manual dexterity for fine manipulation of equipment wiring and installation/repair of machine parts/components
  • May work near industry machinery; exposure to chemical vapors/odors; moving mechanical parts; electrical shock or electrocution; high temperatures; inclement weather; confined areas and heights up to thirty feet

Experience Required
  • High school diploma or GED, plus 3 years experience performing industrial electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to independently and safely use all required tools and equipment
  • Must be available to work overtime and/or odd hours upon request without prior notice
