We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time OR Circulating Registered Nurse to join our upscale plastic surgery center.
A bit about the positionPromotes and restores patients' health for H/K/B patients by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families. Shifts will vary between 6am-3pm, 7am-4pm, and 8am-6pm, 4 days a week.
What You Can Expect InThe Role
- Preparing the operating room with necessary equipment for surgical cases
- Preparing and administering medications
- Assisting anesthesia providers as needed
- Preparing patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting areas to be operated on
- Remaining in the room to assist with any needs
- Intraoperative charting
- Stocking operating rooms with sterile surgical equipment, linens, and supplies
- Developing and implementing nursing care plans for surgical patients
- Identifying patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
- Establishing a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
- Promoting patient independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.
- Resolving patient problems and needs
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection‑control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Prepare patients for surgery in the pre‑operative setting.
- Assist in the recovery of patients post surgery.
- At least 2 years of OR experience
- Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Current RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications required.
- Plastic surgery experience preferred.
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds.
