Clark Wood are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Accounts Technician to join a highly regarded independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Huntingdon.

This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT qualified, ACA / ACCA part-qualified or experienced practice accountant looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and growing firm.

Working with a varied portfolio of SMEs, limited companies, partnerships and sole traders, you will play a key role in delivering accounts, VAT and bookkeeping services while developing strong client relationships.

As a Senior Accounts Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing statutory year-end accounts for a portfolio of clients including limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns in line with HMRC and Making Tax Digital requirements.
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients, supporting with accounting and bookkeeping queries.
• Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing guidance where required.
• Assisting with management accounts, budgeting and forecasting assignments.
• Working with cloud accounting software including Xero, Quick Books and Sage.
• Managing deadlines and ensuring a high level of client service is maintained.
• Supporting Managers and Partners with client delivery and advisory opportunities.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• AAT Level 4 qualification, ACA / ACCA part-qualified, qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT and bookkeeping.
• Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books or Sage.
• Experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members.
• Excellent communication skills with a client-focused approach.
• Ability to manage multiple client deadlines in a structured and organised manner.
