Riverport Medical Practice is looking to appoint a Prescription Administrator to join our team. Both full-time and part-time applications will be considered for this role.
The ideal candidate will be have experience working in General Practice supporting a prescription team and processing prescription requests. This is the ideal role for a Prescription Clerk or Dispenser.
Main duties of the jobThe Prescription Administrator will work alongside our existing prescription team to support the safe issuing of medication across the Practice.
This includes processing prescription requests that patients have submitted both digitally and on paper.
The Prescription Administrator is a key role at the Practice in supporting our team and patients with prescription queries. The ideal candidate will be confident liaising with patients, staff, and other healthcare organisations such as community pharmacies.
The role not only supports the Practice team, but also the aligned residential care homes with their medication ordering.
The Prescription Administrator also supports long-term condition management by inviting patients to monitoring appointments, blood tests, and medication reviews.
About usRiverport Medical Practice is a GMS practice with 13,500 patients. Currently rated 'Good' by CQC, the Practice has three sites in St Ives, Somersham and Fenstanton.
The Practice uses Systm One clinical system as well as other digital healthcare solutions such as Abtrace.
Riverport Medical Practice has a team of 50 members of staff including GPs, Pharmacists, Nurses, Physician Associates, and Healthcare Assistants.
Job responsibilities- Processing repeat prescription requests
- Supporting the use of electronic repeat dispensing
- Booking medication reviews
- Identifying patients who require greater monitoring for their medications (such as high risk drugs, anticoagulants etc)
- Ensuring blood tests have been attended
- Submitting information to the clinical system such as INR results from the anticoag team
- Experience working with prescriptions or medication
- Experience working in General Practice or Community Pharmacy
- Experience using TPP Systm One clinical system
- Experience working as a Prescription Administrator or Prescription Clerk
