Location: 90% to Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire / 10% West London
Security Clearance Level: High –DV ‘Developed Vetting’
OverviewWe are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated third line Oracle Database Administrator, with high levels of security clearance, to join our growing team of IT experts in delivering high quality IT services to our government and commercial customers.
Responsibilities include providing enterprise operational database support and maintenance services to a complex range of imagery and geospatial system capabilities in a high‑availability operational environment.
Responsibilities- Provide enterprise operational database support and maintenance for Oracle databases, and to a lesser extent MSSQL and PostgreSQL, across a multi‑site enterprise solution.
- Maintain and update Data Models and Data Definition Language, ensuring database integrity.
- Support systems incorporating Clear Case and Clear Quest software and apply patch fixes.
- Interact with customers and multiple providers, agencies and customer organisations, delivering day‑to‑day objectives and ensuring compliance with project milestones, KPI’s and SLA’s.
- Provide remote and on‑site support, including occasional out‑of‑hours on‑call support.
- Contribute to the creation and ongoing maintenance of technical documentation and support change projects when required.
- Experience in an ITILv3 support enterprise environment.
- Oracle DBA (10g/11g) experience in an operational support environment.
- Knowledge of the change and operational release cycle, including systems integration, development and test.
- Experience with IT architectures and the application of software/system engineering principles within a secure IT environment.
- Proactive self‑starter able to respond to complex situations with little oversight and engage other technical experts as needed.
- Experience with Oracle 12c support, Windows Server, VMWare environments, Web Sphere and JBoss applications.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL.
Any experience working in a Defence environment, and/or with imagery and geospatial tooling and datasets would be highly desirable but is not essential.
Occasional travel to other Leidos and customer sites may be required. Remaining up‑to‑date with new technologies is part of the job.
