Salary: £55,000 - 55,000 per year
Requirements- We require a thorough and demonstrable understanding of Cisco Enterprise LAN environments at 3rd line support level, including deployment, administration, and troubleshooting.
- We ideally expect CCNP and CCDP-level knowledge.
- We require a strong focus on secure LAN environments, including security boundaries and rulesets.
- We require a good understanding of WAN connectivity and routing protocols, with experience in the implementation, configuration, and management of virtual and physical networking solutions.
- We require hands‑on experience troubleshooting Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching and routing.
- We require hands‑on experience configuring and troubleshooting VPC, VDC, STP, BGP, OSPF, and other mainstream protocols.
- We require hands‑on experience configuring and troubleshooting Sidewinders and ASAv firewalls, with a platform focus on ISR, 6800, 3750, and 3850 series.
- We require hands‑on experience configuring and troubleshooting Fortigate, Sonicwall, Palo Alto, ForcePoint, ASAv, and Juniper firewalls.
- We require excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and autonomously.
- We require the ability to tackle complex problems and incidents.
- We require experience in ITIL ICT service delivery on critical infrastructure.
- We require experience working under pressure to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
- We require experience in patch management, including analysis and deployment.
- We require the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels of seniority, including customers.
- We require a High DV clearance.
- We provide crucial Core Services support by conducting complex fault rectification for incidents.
- We support Problem Management, Continual Service Improvement, and occasional Change Request work on IT systems supporting key National Security outputs.
- We conduct reactive and proactive maintenance, primarily on High Side systems, and may occasionally support lower classification systems.
- We respond to escalations from 2nd Line Engineers and other Resolver Groups.
- We carry out advanced troubleshooting to diagnose and rectify issues as they arise.
- We develop technical solutions to complex issues and problems.
- We work to ensure issues and problems are resolved within SLA levels and that KPIs are met.
- We deliver system support and ticket resolution to keep the Core Network estate online and running smoothly.
- We work with other resolver groups, original manufacturers, users, and suppliers to perform root cause analysis and provide technical solutions.
- We complete and record periodic maintenance of all systems using Periodic Preventative Maintenance and routine upgrading activities.
- We maintain and create documentation of system configuration changes.
- We accurately record work in service desk systems.
- We assist in the configuration, installation, and deployment of infrastructure components.
- We engage in infrastructure‑related projects and change requests, contributing to implementation, build, and testing phases.
