We are currently recruiting for an experienced Interim Maintenance & Asset Management Manager to support a busy food manufacturing site in Northamptonshire. This is a key interim assignment focused on strengthening the site's planned preventive maintenance (PPM), asset management, CMMS, maintenance planning and scheduling, while providing engineering leadership during a period of transition.

You will take ownership of the site's maintenance and asset management activities, ensuring production equipment is maintained effectively and that a proactive, structured approach to maintenance is embedded across the facility.

A major focus will be on reviewing and improving the existing PPM and CMMS systems, developing condition-based monitoring and ensuring maintenance activities are properly planned and scheduled.

You will also manage relationships with OEMs, equipment manufacturers and external engineering contractors, coordinating servicing, technical support and maintenance interventions.

• Take ownership of the site's PPM programme, ensuring maintenance tasks are planned, scheduled and completed effectively.
• Review, develop and improve the CMMS and asset management system.
• Maintain accurate asset registers, maintenance histories and engineering records.
• Develop effective maintenance planning and scheduling processes.
• Introduce and improve condition-based and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Manage and coordinate OEMs, manufacturers and external engineering contractors.
• Plan OEM visits, servicing, inspections, technical support and remedial works.
• Improve asset reliability, availability and overall maintenance performance.
• Manage maintenance resources and prioritise engineering activities around production requirements.
• Ensure appropriate spare parts, contractors and technical resources are available.
• Monitor PPM compliance, breakdown performance and maintenance KPIs.
• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
• Ensure engineering activities meet relevant food safety, health & safety and compliance requirements.
• Provide day-to-day engineering leadership across the site.
• Act as the maintenance/engineering lead in the absence of the Maintenance Manager or Engineering Manager, ensuring continuity of decision-making and operational support.

• Experience with in food manufacturing, FMCG or a similar high-volume production environment.
• Strong knowledge of PPM, CMMS and asset management.
• Experience developing condition-based monitoring / predictive maintenance strategies.
• Strong maintenance planning and scheduling experience.
• Experience managing OEMs, equipment manufacturers and contractors.
• A track record of improving maintenance reliability and reducing unplanned downtime.
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Previous experience at Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, Reliability Manager or Senior Maintenance Engineer level.

This is a hands-on interim assignment for someone who can provide immediate leadership and structure across maintenance, asset management and engineering planning.

The successful candidate will play a key role in improving the site's maintenance strategy, strengthening PPM and CMMS processes, developing condition-based monitoring and ensuring effective management of OEMs and external engineering resources.
