Job overview

Working independently and in a team delivering a wide range of vaccinations to all age ranges.

Working in schools, community clinics, and other venues.

Providing assessment and review of missed vaccinations and reviewing vaccination histories for those not vaccinated according to the English Schedule.

Main duties of the job

Delivering immunisations across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough to children and young people in schools and to all age groups through community clinics, housebound visits and via outreach work.

The role will require the successful candidates to travel and so you must hold a
full valid driving license
and

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • Deliver childhood and school-aged immunisation programmes under the direction of the Senior Immunisation Nurse, Clinical Lead, or Team Lead.
  • Ensure immunisation sessions are delivered safely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Support achievement of programme Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Partnership Working
  • Work closely with schools, School Nursing Teams, Child Health Teams, Children's Universal Services, and commissioners.
  • Liaise with statutory, voluntary, private, and non-statutory organisations to improve access to immunisation services.
  • Promote collaborative working to support children, young people, and families.
Data Collection and Administration
  • Collect and record accurate immunisation data at every session.
  • Ensure records are completed in accordance with organisational and professional standards.
Health Promotion and Public Health
  • Deliver health promotion and education relating to immunisations and disease prevention.
  • Support public health initiatives and healthy lifestyle programmes within schools and communities.
  • Provide information, advice, and signposting to relevant services.
Safeguarding and Vulnerable Groups
  • Identify and support vulnerable children, young people, and families.
  • Adhere to Local Safeguarding Board procedures and Child Protection policies.
  • Ensure services are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to diverse community needs.
Clinical Governance and Service Development
  • Promote safe and evidence-based clinical practice.
