Family Worker

At Cambridgeshire County Council, we are seeking three passionate and dedicated Family Workers to join our Huntingdonshire Targeted Support Team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking service during a significant period of transformation, as we work towards implementing the Government's Families First Partnership programme. FFP is a major children's social care reform programme in England that aims to help families earlier and keep children safe.

As a Family Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children, young people and families to overcome challenges, build resilience and achieve positive outcomes. You will work alongside children social care teams to deliver tailored interventions that help reduce risk and prevent escalation of difficulties to enable families to thrive.

You will join a supportive multi-disciplinary district team comprising of:

• Targeted Support Family Workers
• Young People's Workers
• Child and Family Centre Family Workers
• Targeted Support Assistant Managers
• Child and Family Centre Assistant Managers
• Targeted Support Service Manager

Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.

You will be required to hold a full and valid driving license and have access to a vehicle or have the ability to otherwise travel efficiently across the County.

Interviews may include a young people's panel in addition to a Targeted Support management panel and you will be required to complete a short case study exercise.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks.

No two days are the same in this rewarding and dynamic role. As a Family Worker, you will:

• Build positive, professional relationships with children, young people and families.
• Deliver bespoke packages of support tailored to individual family needs.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes.
• Identify strengths within families and empower them to make sustainable changes.
• Help reduce risks and prevent the need for more intensive interventions.
• You will complete assessments and be Lead Professional for the family. As lead professional you will work in partnership with a multi- agency team around the family.
• You will organise, plan and deliver evidence-based group work programmes to support parents/carers.
