Eleven Recruiting is hiring a Quality Engineer to join one of our largest growing Space & Defense clients sitting onsite in Huntington Beach, CA. The Quality Engineer will lead root cause and corrective action (RCCA) initiatives, manage nonconformance and MRB activities, and drive continuous improvement across aerospace and defense manufacturing operations. This position partners closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program Management to maintain product conformity, ensure compliance to AS9100 and customer requirements, and support future Nadcap accreditation.

The facility specializes in the design and production of high-performance composite structures and hardware supporting the aerospace, defense, and industrial sectors. Products include advanced filament-wound components, flight-critical assemblies, and custom composite solutions engineered for precision and durability.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage nonconformance reviews and MRB processes, ensuring effective root cause and corrective action (RCCA) implementation.
  • Conduct and document internal, process, and supplier audits in support of AS9100 and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to develop and maintain Quality Plans, Control Plans, and FMEA for new and existing programs.
  • Perform data collection and trend analysis to monitor in-house metrics, identify quality issues, and recommend improvement actions.
  • Support QMS maintenance, internal audit activities, and external audits for AS9100 and Nadcap compliance.
  • Participate in customer, government, and supplier audits as required, ensuring clear communication and follow-through on corrective actions.
  • Provide technical direction to inspection and manufacturing teams to resolve production issues and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Support supplier quality efforts as needed, including supplier surveys, source inspections, and corrective action requests (SCARs).
  • Assist with Nadcap accreditation preparation for NDT and other special processes, providing documentation and procedural support.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and product build documentation (work orders) to verify quality requirements are properly communicated and understood.
  • Contribute to cross-functional problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or SPC methodologies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3–5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in aerospace or composite manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading RCCA, MRB, and audit activities in an AS9100-certified organization.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and Nadcap quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with Nadcap requirements and special process accreditation is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with hands‑on experience in CAPA, SPC, 8D, FMEA, PPAP, and other core quality engineering tools.
  • Solid understanding of Mil‑Spec, DoD, and customer contract requirements.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with ROMER Arm, PCDMIS, Verisurf, and Polyworks metrology software preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment with multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and QMS‑related software systems.
  • Must meet ITAR eligibility and be able to pass a background check for Secret‑level clearance.
