Critchfield Mechanical, Inc. of Southern California (CMISC) is a leading mechanical contracting company specializing in heating, ventilating, and air conditioning. Aspen Beach Consulting is CMISC’s Human Resources Consultant has been requested to conduct a search for a talented Safety Manager to join CMISC’s team and champion workplace safety across its operations. CMISC is a union labor employer, but this position is a non-union management position.
Aboutthe Role
As Safety Manager, you will be the driving force behind our safety culture. You will design, implement, and oversee programs that prevent workplace accidents, ensure compliance with Cal/OSHA and Fed/OSHA regulations, and promote health and safety awareness among employees. This role also includes oversight of fleet maintenance and driver safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain compliance with CMISC’s Injury & Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP).
- Conduct site safety inspections and hazard evaluations.
- Investigate occupational injuries, illnesses, and accidents; provide lessons learned.
- Develop and deliver employee safety training programs (forklift, scissor lift, fall protection, silica, etc.).
- Maintain safety records Pick pola training matrices, and job safety analyses.
- Lead weekly tailgate meetings and safety committee participation.
- Oversee fleet safety: vehicle repairs, registration, insurance, and accident documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety programs including Fall Protection, Heat Illness, Silica, Excavation, and Crane Rig Plans.
- Manage OSHA annual reporting and labor law poster distribution.
- Support new hire orientation and certification programs.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Safety Management or construction field supervision.
- CHST certification required.
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety laws & compliance standards.
- Ability to assess hazards, act quickly in emergencies, and suggest preventive solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with field supervisors and labor forces.
- Hands‑on experience with mechanical trades and crane rig plans preferred.

Salary Range: $95,000 to $129,000 depending on direct experience and record Granted achievements.
