Job Description
Seeking an LVN or RN with teaching experience to instruct classes, both virtual and in-person, as part of our new LVN Training Program at one of our three campus locations:
Huntington Park, Pomona, or Van Nuys. This is a full-time position.
The LVN Instructor is responsible for teaching and training vocational nursing students in both classroom and clinical settings. This role includes delivering lectures, demonstrating nursing procedures, supervising students in clinical environments, and evaluating student performance. The instructor ensures that all instruction aligns with state nursing board requirements and prepares students to provide safe, competent patient care. The Instructor should maintain an organized, disciplined classroom environment that is conducive to learning and imparts the requirements of the relevant workplace setting to existing students.

Responsibilities Include:
- Present lectures online, in skills lab and conduct discussions to increase students' knowledge and competence, using visual aids such as graphs, charts, videotapes and slides.
- Identify and tutor students who have not successfully completed the NATP in time for the Graduation.
- Prepare students to pass the LVN certification examination.
- Review student records to ensure that Health Exam and Screening documentation is received and properly filed in student training records.

- Understanding of education environments including needs of adult learners
- Ability to provide a positive and effective learning environment
- Knowledge and understanding of professional career paths for which students are enrolled
- Motivation, dedication and enthusiasm for teaching
- Good Organization and Communication Skills and review student records to ensure that Health Exam and Screening documentation is received and properly filed in student training records.
- Observe and evaluate students' work to determine progress, provide feedback, and make suggestions for improvement.
Credentials and
Experience:
- Must hold a California RN or LVN License that is active, current and in good standing.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience including direct patient care, typically in acute care or long-term care settings.
- Experience planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs in nursing preferred.
- Must have valid California Director of Staff Development certification. (We can help you obtain this)
- Must meet the requirements of Title 16, California Code of Regulations (16 CCR) §§ 2529 and 2584.
- Teaching experience (classroom or clinical) preferred but not always required; educator training may be provided.
