The Health and Welfare Council of Long Island (HWCLI) is a private, not for profit, health and human services planning, research/public education and advocacy organization that serves as the umbrella for public and non-profit agencies serving Long Island’s poor and vulnerable individuals and families.

The Health Empowerment Alliance of Long Island (HEALI) is Long Island’s Social Care Network (SCN) of community-based organizations (CBOs) and healthcare providers building a person centric model that integrates healthcare, social care, and behavioral health care. HWCLI is the lead entity for the HEALI Social Care Network.

The SCN brings together social service and health care providers from across Nassau and Suffolk counties to provide enhanced healthcare equity through improvements in need identification, care coordination, integration, and provision of tailored funding.

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT:
Data Analyst, Health Equity Alliance of Long Island

HWCLI seeks an experienced, energetic, passionate, and socially conscious individual to support the HWCLI and HEALI missions. HEALI is looking for a Data Analyst to help build and manage a complex set of reports and tableau dashboards. As the SCN for Long Island, HEALI manages a variety of data needs and requirements across state required reporting, network metrics, program and service delivery, and operations.

The data analyst will work with cross functional teams on determining report requirements, build out, cadence, and delivery. They will also work in tableau to build manage dashboards that pull from a collated set of data sources. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Fiscal and Contracts.

Responsibilities include:
  • Build new reports using the data analytics platform
  • Generate ad hoc reports
  • Quality check reports
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of data
  • Collaborate with IT, management, and other stakeholders to establish business needs and translate them into data analysis projects
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., computer science, information technology)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in technical roles
  • Experience with health IT data standards, tools, and processes such as HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, and IHE preferred
  • Experience with population health management data systems design and/or architectures strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with state and federal information privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, and its impact on data systems and data management
  • Strong commitment to social justice and HWCLI’s mission
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with MS365, Tableau, Data Analysis, Dashboarding, Health Data, Clinical Information Systems

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to tailor style to match audience
  • Able to work collaboratively across an interdisciplinary team, managing multiple priorities

  • Salary range: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00/year
