Base pay range: $50,000.00/yr – $85,000.00/yr. Additional commission-based incentives available.
Job DescriptionEmpire Ford Lincoln of Huntington is hiring an Auto Parts Counter Person. This role is ideal for a career‑minded, customer‑service‑oriented individual with prior experience in auto parts sales. The position offers a salary with commission-based incentives and focuses on team success, working alongside the technician to drive store growth. Physical strength and stamina are essential, as the job involves lifting, squatting, and carrying heavy items.
Responsibilities- Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.
- Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Converse effectively and efficiently regarding customer parts status.
- Read and understand the parts catalog when looking up and speaking to specific parts.
- Answer phone calls and provide price quotes and other information to customers.
- Review body shop estimates to verify that the parts ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate.
- Provide high‑level service to both internal and external customers.
- Pull/fill orders from stock and maintain weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock.
- Handle heavy items, including lifting, squatting, and carrying.
- Assist parts team loading or unloading parts truck.
- Notify parts manager of out‑of‑stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
- Locate out‑of‑stock parts from outside sources and submit an emergency order, if necessary.
- Ensure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
- Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
- Level A, B, or C Part Counter experience only.
- Eager to improve in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to read/interpret safety and maintenance documents.
- Ability to calculate figures/amounts including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, %, area, circumference, and volume.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong empathy and listening skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast‑paced, results‑driven environment.
- Experience providing outstanding customer service by showcasing expertise, fostering trust, and growing customer satisfaction.
- Friendliness, enthusiasm, reliability, and a positive “team‑player” attitude.
- Open to constructive feedback to improve performance and development.
- Flexible with work scheduling and availability to work weekends and holidays.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Reynolds & Reynolds systems.
