The Analyst II will play a key role in supporting SIU’s Student Information System (SIS) by researching and resolving issues reported by campus administrative offices, collaborating with development teams and software support to meet business objectives. This position is responsible for performing unit and regression testing on new and existing applications, providing training and documentation during implementations, and working closely with project coordinators, IT, and business offices to design efficient technological solutions.
The Analyst II ensures consistent practices to maintain system integrity and supports other duties as assigned, contributing to the reliability and effectiveness of SIS in meeting university needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) of:
- College coursework in Information Systems Technologies (IST), Information Technology (IT), Computer Science (CS), Programming, IT Management, or business-related discipline, including coursework in application development, programming, or database technologies; or
- Work experience in application development, application support, or business analysis (concurrent with the qualifications above).
- Must possess 6 months or more of experience in SQL (Oracle, Microsoft, Sybase, and/or MySQL).
- Must possess knowledge of SQL Database Administration, application development, or ERP configuration (Banner, EBS, Colleague, People Soft, SAP, Workday, Jenzabar, etc.).
Illinois Residency Requirement:
Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.
This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future university sponsorship to be considered for this role.
