Job Summary /DescriptionWSAZ is looking for a reporter and anchor to join its award‑winning news team. The candidate must be a newsroom leader, an excellent communicator, and passionate about engaging with the local community and audience. This role will involve covering news in the field by shooting, writing, and editing stories, establishing sources, and actively engaging on the station’s digital platforms.
Duties/Responsibilities- Collaborate with news managers, producers, and reporters for content and newscast development.
- Participate in community events and make public appearances on behalf of the station.
- Edit video and stories for broadcast.
- Anchor newscasts as assigned.
- Interview people and research facts for accuracy.
- Demonstrate solid news judgment.
- Write strong, concise scripts for newscasts.
- Use technical and computer skills to shoot, write, and edit content.
- Lead by example and mentor team members.
- Uncover news that affects viewers and share it with the audience.
- Bachelor’s Degree or better in Journalism or a related field is required.
