WSAZ is looking for a reporter and anchor to join its award-winning news team. The candidate must be a newsroom leader and an excellent communicator with a passion for learning about the community and audience. The person will lead by example, represent WSAZ in the community, and model a professional approach to the staff in areas ranging from uncovering stories to mentoring team members positively.

The role includes establishing sources, being active on the station s digital platforms, and covering news in the field by shooting, writing, and editing stories.

• Ability to collaborate with news managers, producers, and reporters for content and newscast development
• Willingness to participate in community events and make public appearances on behalf of the station
• Edit video and stories for broadcast
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Anchor newscasts as assigned
• Interview people and research facts for accuracy
• Must demonstrate solid news judgment
• Strong writing skills and experience writing for newscasts
• Solid technical and computer skills, with the ability to shoot, write, and edit
• Outstanding leadership skills
• Passion for uncovering news that affects viewers

• Bachelor s Degree or better in Journalism or a related field required
