Campus Activities Board (CAB)
Overview:
The GA for Student Life supports campus engagement by advising and mentoring the student-led Campus Activities Board, assisting with planning diverse co-curricular events and enhancing the student experience at Marshall University. This position is key in supporting student leadership, event execution, and departmental initiatives that build community and foster a vibrant campus culture. Supports all areas reporting to the Assistant Dean of Student Life.
Primary Responsibilities (75%) Reports to the Associate Director of Student Life
Assist with developing leadership training and team-building activities for board members. Support the leadership development of CAB members through training and 1:1 coaching.
- Advise and mentor the Student Programming Board, helping students plan and implement events such as comedians, game nights, late-night and weekend programming, and large-scale campus traditions.
- Oversee logistical planning for student-led events, including space reservations, risk management, contracts, and budgeting.
- Help develop creative marketing and promotional strategies for events, including social media and digital advertising.
- Assist with marketing, contracts, risk management, and event assessments.
- Help maintain and update CAB presence on Herd Link, including event submissions and post-event evaluations. Support assessment and evaluation of programs to inform future planning.
- Oversee the maintenance and monitoring of Student Programming Board information and events in Herd Link.
- Co-chair campus-wide student leadership conference committee.
- Help assess student involvement data and assist with reports on student engagement.
- Contribute to Week of Welcome events, department-wide advertising/social media efforts, and annual assessment/reporting processes.
- Provide collaborative support to Fraternity & Sorority Life, Military & Veteran Services, Community Service, Parent & Family Programs, Club Sports, and Esports.
- Utilize Herd Link for event management and provide student and staff support on its use.
- 20 hours/week at $12/hour

Graduate Assistants are required to promptly report any information shared with them regarding:
- Sexual misconduct or harassment
- Relationship or dating violence
- Stalking
- Discrimination or bias incidents
- Hazing or other forms of endangerment
Graduate Assistants receive training on reporting obligations, appropriate response protocols, and how to support students while maintaining compliance with university policy. #J-18808-Ljbffr
