Graduate Assistant – Full Time (20 hrs per week)

Position at Marshall University School of Pharmacy.

• GA:
  Faculty Support – Assist faculty, services may include tasks such as supervising laboratories under their supervision; grading quizzes, homework, and other projects; and assist with other course and research related duties as assigned.
• Provide one‑on‑one academic tutoring to teach and reteach concepts to H.E.L.P. students.
• Offer assistance with developing study strategies.
• Work with students to develop a plan that fits the student’s individual needs.
• Assist students in developing a schedule for study sessions.
• Clarify/augment student notes from lecture.
• Teach concepts using multi‑sensory techniques to maximize student understanding and recall.
• Teach organization and time‑management skills.
• Monitor students’ progress through communication with students and professors.
• Send legal notification to professors regarding students with disabilities and accommodations.
• Organize and facilitate testing accommodations according to students’ diagnosis for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Vocational Rehabilitation Act.
• Proctor exams under the supervision of staff monitor.
• Maintain student attendance records.
• Notify students and parents regarding students’ absences from tutoring sessions.
• Write End‑of‑Semester Reports for each student.
• Participate in weekly tutor training and development sessions.
