The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with medical providers and/or medical assistants to examine and treat UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care patients. The role performs and analyzes patient x‑rays, reports results, and provides administrative support for efficient operation of urgent care centers.

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required.

• Experience in a clinical setting preferred.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire.
• State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required at time of hire (if applicable).

• Provide x‑ray services as needed.
• Perform x‑ray services for patients using touch‑controlled technique.
• Ensure correct patient positioning and protective measures.
• Assist patients in wheelchair if required.

• Inform technical staff of patient flow.
• Prepare patients through interview, vital signs, and critical case escalation.
• Conduct point‑of‑care testing as needed.

• Maintain medical records and scan charts.
• Conduct courtesy call‑backs for patient follow‑up.
• Perform equipment checks, QA/QC logs, and maintenance reporting.

• Support clinician decisions and smooth clinic operations.
• Explain procedures and ensure patient comfort.
• Position patients and equipment for optimal imaging.
• Capture clear, high‑quality images.
• Maintain equipment and supplies.
• Follow radiation safety protocols (ALARA).
• Record accurate patient data.
• Verify image quality and forward to radiologists.

• X‑ray procedures and protocols.
• Anatomy and physiology for x‑ray testing.
• Radiology equipment and safety hazards.

• Proper patient positioning.
• Identifying and troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Adhering to infection control and radiation safety procedures.
