Job Description
We seek a motivated candidate to fill a technical position supporting activities related to the NSF EPSCoR Track I award “West Virginia Network for Functional Neuroscience and Transcriptomics (WV-NFNT).” The successful candidate will provide training and support for confocal microscopy, sample preparation, and other research activities as required. The candidate must be independently driven to stay current with biological imaging techniques and understand how imaging intersects with big data
-omics sciences. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various users are essential.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing daily scheduling, training, and basic maintenance of grant-related instruments.
- Performing technician-assisted sample preparation, sectioning, and imaging.
- Maintaining a data management workflow for imaging files and other data.
- Coordinating with faculty and student users.
- Sitting on the steering committee for the grant-related instrument.
- Performing other related duties as assigned. This position is grant-funded and employment is at-will.
