Job Description

Establishes and maintains a safe atmosphere for faculty, staff, students and visitors at an institution by providing police and security services.

• Sworn officer, firearms qualified.
• Valid driver's license.
• Applicants must pass physical agility (PAT) prior to the final offer.
• Drug testing and medical management required.
• Selected candidate(s) must successfully pass a background before the official hire date.
• Selected candidate(s) must successfully complete a pre-employment psychological evaluation before the official hire date.
• Selected candidate(s) must successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination and be within a certain height and weight range per WV State Police Academy requirements to be able to attend the Academy.
• Selected candidate(s) must successfully complete a pre-employment polygraph test before official hire date.
• Following hire, applicants who do not possess West Virginia Law Enforcement Officer certification must attend and complete West Virginia Basic Law Enforcement Academy within one year.
• Must be bondable upon background check.
