Litigation Paralegal

Overview

Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 60 firm, is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in our Huntington office. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, fast‑paced team that handles complex litigation matters.

The ideal candidate will have litigation experience in a law firm, including hands‑on involvement in case preparation from start to finish and a solid understanding of a paralegal’s role throughout the full litigation life cycle. Trial experience is preferred and considered a strong asset.

This individual will manage and monitor court deadlines, taking full ownership of case calendars; electronically file documents in both federal and state courts under attorney supervision; and prepare drafts of pleadings, discovery responses, notices, and motions. They will also take responsibility for requesting and summarizing medical records and preparing clear, well‑organized medical chronologies for attorney review.

The ideal candidate for this position possesses strong organizational skills along with well‑developed critical thinking abilities. They are detail‑oriented, producing neat and accurate work product, while maintaining the agility to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities. This individual resolves issues proactively, communicates effectively, and knows how to be a true team player who contributes to a collaborative, high‑performing environment.

A 2‑ or 4‑year degree and a paralegal certificate are preferred; however, relevant work experience may be substituted for formal education. Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet business needs is required.
