The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) will work with the Gynecological Oncologist, cancer care team and leadership to provide education and care to patients with GYN disease, benign and malignant. The APN will function within scope of practice defined by the West Virginia Board of Nursing or the West Virginia Board of Medicine and is responsible for continuously maintaining the license and certifications required to practice in the state of West Virginia.

• Perform comprehensive initial and episodic health history and physical examinations to identify cancer risk, existing or potential health problems.
• Initiate appropriate diagnostic, therapeutic, medical, and nursing actions in conjunction with ECCC physicians.
• Provide follow‑up care including acute and routine examinations.
• Triage patient problem calls in office requiring medical attention.
• Provide health education to patients and families (high‑risk education, anticipatory teaching, clinical teaching regarding biopsy results).
• Provide monitoring and continuity of care between referring physicians and other health care settings.
