Job Overview

St. Mary’s Medical Center is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner/Physician assistant in the CVT
- Critical Care. The individual in the role will promote excellence in patient care by advancing the quality, efficient, and cost-effective care.

Responsibilities:

• Daily hospital rounds with physician.
• Dictates patient’s admission history and physical.
• Orders appropriate laboratory tests, x-rays and other diagnostic test as deemed necessary by the patient’s condition in collaboration with the physician.
• Prescribes appropriate medications to manage the patient’s diagnosis.
• Prescribes treatment plans including appropriate diet, rest, activities, etc.
• Performs minor bedside procedures.
• Communicates information regarding patient status and needs to the attending physician.
• Initiate appropriate evaluation and emergency management treatment for emergency situations.
• Prepares and dictates patient’s discharge summary and/or the transfer of care notes
