Job Description
** St. Mary's Medical Center
** is offering a
** nurse extern
** position. Nurse Externs assist in the delivery of patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.### Requirements

* Education Requirements:
** Documental proficiency of basic technical skills and current enrollment in an approved school of nursing or a graduate from an approved school of nursing in the process of receiving a temporary permit.
** Work Requirement:
** Each Nurse Extern (RN) must work a minimum twenty-four (24) hours a month, of which twelve (12) hours will occur during the weekend period. Individual exceptions may be made by the Resource Center Clinical Manager related to school and clinical schedules.
** Certifications/
Skills:
** BLS required. Verbal ability required to communicate with patients and understand instructions received from nursing staff; manual dexterity required to use hands easily and skillfully while aiding patients.
