The role is located in Huntington, WV. Casto Technical Services, Inc. is a locally owned, family business with over 50 years of experience serving building owners and operators.

We offer our technicians the convenience of dispatching from their homes with an assigned company van. A valid driver’s license is required.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Refrigeration Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role requires diagnosing system issues, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

• Install, service, and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration systems, including walk‑in coolers, freezers, and HVAC‑related cooling equipment.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on refrigeration systems, compressors, condensers, and related components.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance and efficiency of refrigeration equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to determine the best repair solutions.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work performed.
• Work closely with customers to explain issues, provide recommendations, and ensure satisfaction with services provided.
• Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, including EPA standards for refrigerants.
• Adhere to all company and industry safety standards and protocols.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in refrigeration, HVAC, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in refrigeration system installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Strong understanding of refrigeration principles, system components, and troubleshooting techniques.
• EPA Section 608 certification required.
• Experience with commercial and industrial refrigeration brands and systems.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• Experience with HVAC and Building Automation Systems.
• Certifications such as WV Journeyman HVAC License, WV Journeyman Electrician License, KY Journeyman HVAC License, NATE or HVAC Excellence.
• Familiarity with energy‑efficient refrigeration practices.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or at heights.
• Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including cold storage facilities and outdoor settings.
