Maintenance Technician in Training

Office located in Barboursville WV with daily travel up to 4 hours to owned properties.

VDM Management is seeking a reliable and skilled Commercial Maintenance Worker to join our team working directly under the Maintenance Supervisor. This role involves performing general and skilled labor tasks to maintain and repair commercial and Residential properties. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction-style work environments and possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Must be willing to travel and work overtime as needed. Will be on-call in rotation with the current team.

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on properties and machines, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural components.

Handle general labor tasks such as painting, drywall repair, flooring installation, and minor carpentry or demolition work.

Operate hand tools, power tools, light machinery, and other equipment safely and effectively.

Troubleshoot equipment or issues in a timely manner.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company, EPA, and OSHA standards.

Complete work loads professionally and promptly.

Document work performed and communicate effectively with supervisor and property management

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred.

EPA 608 preferred

Proven experience in commercial maintenance, construction, or related field.

Knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) and general construction practices.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs, climb, crawl, stoop, walk, or stand for long periods.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Excellent communication and time-management skills.
