The Sr. Finance & Accounting Analyst acts as the financial liaison for the Accounting Manager and CFO, driving results through business partnering, communicating across teams to understand business activities and challenges, and performing analytics to support informed decision-making.
Duties and
Responsibilities include:
- General Ledger Maintenance and prepare journal entries.
- Facilitate and complete monthly closing procedures, as well as prepare financial statements.
- Audit expense reports for proper receipts/documentation, as well as Sunshine Act reporting.
- Dive into all areas of the business to ensure expenses are appropriately forecasted and identify expense optimization opportunities.
- Assist with monthly financial statement analysis of revenues and expenses on monthly basis.
- Serve as a backup to the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
- Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process, such as revenue planning, department expenses, and inventory planning.
- Collaborate with the CFO to meet growing business demands by managing dashboards, scorecards, and data visualization tools to improve decision-making.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting by identifying and addressing issues with key performance indicators and metrics.
- Perform analysis on customers, products, and markets, focusing on volume, pricing and profitability.
- Assist with monthly financial review (MFR) materials for both internal management and leadership.
- Contribute to process and system improvement projects as needed, developing tools that add value to the business.
- Ensure all changes to reporting, processes, and procedures are appropriately documented to maintain departmental consistency.
- Assist with other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance. Minimum of 5-7 years progressive financial accounting experience is required. Ability to work in a quickly changing environment to meet deadlines and benchmarks. CPA is a plus.
Experience and Skills:
- Participate in the annual budget and forecasting process, demonstrating a thorough understanding of financial planning and execution.
- Work collaboratively with business partners to provide guidance, helping them navigate their unique business challenges and achieve strategic goals.
- Exhibit proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and financial software applications to streamline data management and analytics.
- Possess strong accounting and finance knowledge, ensuring sound financial decision-making and adherence to best practices.
- Bring experience in financial planning system implementation, contributing to the enhancement of operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Leverage strong analytical skills to identify trends, interpret financial data effectively, and communicate results that drive business outcomes.
- Demonstrate a robust work ethic and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while meeting critical deadlines.
- Excel in a team environment, fostering collaboration and shared success.
