Base pay range

$18.00/hr - $24.50/hr

Job Summary

Provide residents with daily nursing care according to federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, regulations, facility policies, and directives from supervisors to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a nursing arts course in an accredited program and the Department-approved nursing assistant competency evaluation or military training with similar content.
• At least 16 years of age, with good moral character, honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
• Evidence of employment or occupation and residence for two years prior to employment.
• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Current CPR certification or certification within two weeks of employment.
• Interest or knowledge in caring for the ill, disabled, and elderly; tactful communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Ability to make independent decisions when needed.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with others.
• Personable, enthusiastic, and personable.

• Senses of sight and hearing, or adequate prosthetics.

Essential Functions

• Follow nursing procedures and protocols, including dress code.
• Assist residents with daily activities and develop care plans.
• Participate in care plan conferences and resident/family councils.
• Report concerns to the Administrator.
• Ensure residents' safety and comfort during rounds.
• Maintain a warm, positive, and calm environment.
• Participate in in-service education and orientation programs.
• Recommending equipment and supply needs, inventorying personal possessions, assisting with transfers and discharges.
• Participate in shift reports, monitor intake/output, and perform basic health assessments.
• Maintain cleanliness, respond promptly to call lights, and assist with personal care and feeding.
• Record resident data, observe health changes, and report abnormalities.
• Assist with hygiene, skin checks, and emergency procedures.
• Participate in quality assurance and perform other duties as assigned.
