The Stingray Bay Pool Supervisor is a part‑time position located at Stingray Bay. The pool supervisor oversees the daily activities of the pool. The pool supervisor reports to the Recreation Manager – Aquatics and Fitness.

Qualifications
  • Applicant must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma preferred.
  • Must have 2 years of experience in lifeguarding and/or aquatics supervision/management or equivalent experience.
  • Applicant must have excellent computer skills. Experience in Microsoft Office, When To Work , and Rec Trac is preferred.
  • Additionally, applicants must excel in communication, organization, and customer service.
  • Applicant must possess a current lifeguard certification or able to obtain within the first 2 weeks of the season. Lifeguard instructor certification preferred.
  • Current CPR and first aid certification or able to attain certification prior to opening day of Stingray Bay.
  • Availability on weekends and holidays (Memorial Day and 4th of July) is required.
  • Essential Duties & Functions
  • Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of aquatic staff as assigned.
  • Attend, prepare and conduct in‑service staff training. Responsible for the documentation of on‑going training.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate submittal of payroll information.
  • Order supplies and equipment and arrange for proper distribution.
  • Develop and implement routines, schedules, and procedures for daily operation.
  • Assign staff duties.
  • Maintain and review records and evaluations of all programs, operations, staff, and facilities as assigned.
  • Monitor safety and all procedures as they pertain to the complete supervision of all participants and staff.
  • Prepare and distribute information to participants and parents regarding program or facility activities.
  • Employee must maintain an organized workspace, which includes, but not limited to having all the necessary supplies, forms, equipment, etc. needed for operations.
  • Employee must respond to internal and external phone calls, e‑mails, comments, and suggestions in a timely manner.
  • Employee must accurately answer patron questions in a timely manner.
  • Employee must assist in customer service, which includes, but not limited to customer issues, comments, complaints, and concerns. Employee will be assisting the customers in different ways, such as, but not limited to person to person and over the phone, and must be able to assist them immediately or direct the customer to the appropriate manager if necessary. 14. Employee must complete the necessary forms for accidents and incidents.
  • Employee must possess knowledge of the operation of a swimming pool, including sanitation, maintenance, safety, staff scheduling and public relations.
  • Attend Supervisor Meetings as scheduled.
  • Employee will use program and attendance software to understand pool usage.
  • Employee must be able to work independently.
  • Employee must enforce pool rules and regulations.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Marginal Functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Employee must attend and contribute to staff meetings.
  • Employee is responsible for managing property and equipment through ensuring appropriate levels of safety and cleanliness, by completing the maintenance themselves or identifying and initiating work order requests and repairs.
  • Employee must attend workshops, and seminars pertaining to employee’s position, as needed, for new ideas, developments, regulations, and techniques.
  • Assists and substitutes for staff as needed.
  • Cognitive Considerations
  • Employee must have the ability to read and understand materials, such as, but not limited to, rules and regulations books, manuals, and schedules.
  • Employee must be able to make decisions objectively based on customer service and fiscal constraint.
  • Employee is responsible for keeping organized records and reports.
  • Psychological Considerations
  • Employee must be able to work independently in day-to-day operations with general direction of the Recreation Manager.
