Randolph School is seeking an innovative STEM teacher with a growth mindset to work within our Middle School Division (grades 5-8). This position will include guiding students in hands‑on, project-based courses in the areas of computer science and design thinking. In addition, the Middle School STEM Teacher will partner with classroom teachers and grade‑level teams to explore their upcoming curriculum, strategically infusing high‑impact, hands‑on STEM learning experiences that build meaningful connections to the current units of study.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Establish an inclusive environment where all students are both inspired and appropriately challenged, ensuring advanced STEM learners are stretched while building confidence in those who are new or hesitant to the field
  • Collaborate with STEM faculty in lower and upper school to scaffold learning objectives and update scope and sequence
  • Encourage a culture of curiosity and calculated risk‑taking, followed by feedback, reflection, and iteration
  • Work with grade level teams to address the needs of the whole child
  • Integrate the teaching of effective organization and study skills
  • Use our Learning Management System to communicate and organize assignments
  • Demonstrate effective written and oral communication (parent conferences, written correspondence including narrative reports)
  • Effectively monitor and manage student learning using a variety of assessment methods to evaluate student progress
  • Create a supportive and inclusive environment and develop respectful relationships with students by using conflict resolution and problem‑solving techniques within the classroom
  • Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning through active participation in professional growth activities
  • Maintain an effective, safe, and well‑organized classroom and a supervised lab space
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or STEM‑related field
  • Relevant classroom teaching or training experience preferred
  • Experience with project‑based learning and design thinking
  • Independent college preparatory school experience preferred

Interest and ability to contribute to our clubs, athletics, and extracurricular programs is an additional consideration.
