The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Safety Engineer (Advanced) to provide support services for our government customer in Huntsville, Alabama.

• Provide technical and program management support, including evaluation and review of development, test, and operational systems.
• Support the development, implementation, and execution of MDS safety policies, requirements, and programs.
• Conduct system safety risk identification and management.
• Ensure safe conduct of MDS-level system demonstration activities and safe interoperability of communication systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 3 years of System Safety Engineering experience, or a scientific degree (Physics, Engineering Technology, Computer Science) with 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with safety processes such as MIL-STD 882 (Rev E preferred), safety program plans, hazard analyses, safety assessments, and safety verifications.
• Experience with explosives/ordnance.
• Understanding of hardware and software qualification testing.
• Ability to develop technical solutions and present complex safety risks to diverse audiences.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret clearance or interim clearance.
