Staff Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer

This position is for a Chemical or Mechanical Engineer to design and develop new manufacturing processes.

Responsible for design, pilot scale and implementing manufacturing equipment and processes (from pilot to fully operational) to achieve new product introduction goals of the organization

Identifies and develops process and equipment needed to produce specific products, parts, and components

Wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected

Conduct specific experiments and testing necessary to generate sufficient product scale up and technology transfer

Optimization, implementation, and validation of new catalyst technologies, new equipment and new production processes

Conduct design review meetings with representatives from R&D, manufacturing, sales, technical groups including joint ventures on an as needed basis for technology transfer and new product scale-ups and external suppliers/customers

PhD in Chemistry with 1+ years related experience, OR a MS degree in Chemistry or a related field with 3+ years related experience OR a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and 5+ years related experience

Experience in the following areas desired: dispersions, mixing slurries, particle size reduction/milling, coating, drying and calcination unit processes

Candidates are expected to be familiar with catalysis and/or slurry manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures

Expected to possess a thorough knowledge or research principles and techniques, with specialization in one or more fields

Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge

Knowledge of electronic, pneumatic equipment and computer hardware and software

Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD desired

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills

Excellent problem solving and time management skills

Self-motivated and highly organized
