Overview
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr. Principal Software Engineer to support the Sentinel program in Huntsville, AL
. This role involves backend software development and evaluating candidate Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) solutions. Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance type:
Secret. Travel:
Yes, up to 10% of the time.
- Communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
- Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
- Perform work without appreciable direction.
- Sr. Principal Engineer Software: 8 years with a Bachelor’s in related field, 6 years with a Master’s, 4 years with a PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
- Active DoD Secret clearance - a reinvestigation date within the last 6 years.
- U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
- Proficient in C, C++ or Assembly.
- Thorough understanding of operating systems such as VxWorks and Linux.
- Solid understanding of hardware architecture, hardware registers, buses, interrupts, device communication, and protocols (PCI, SPI, I2C, UARTs, SERDES).
- Experience in CPU configuration, cache configuration, flash, memory map configuration, PCI tree static configuration.
- Embedded Controller experience (e.g., Arduino) and DSP.
- Proficient in Embedded Linux Development.
- Hands-on experience with a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS).
- Experience with VxWorks and Linux embedded development.
- Device driver development experience and knowledge of Board Support Package development and Bootloaders.
