Engineer – Manufacturing II
• Integration-BE-7 B Shift
Join our team of problem solvers at Blue Origin
. We develop reusable, safe, and low‑cost space vehicles and systems, supporting manufacturing and supply chain across all facilities.

- Develop new turbo machinery component manufacturing processes.
- Drive and enhance turbo machinery assembly processes.
- Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware.
- Define how to prepare turbopumps for test, qualification, and flight.
- Identify, develop, and deploy manufacturing methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build schedule.
- Conduct DFMA and PFMEA studies to strengthen the feedback loop between design, build, and test.
- Develop manufacturing work instructions covering receiving inspection, fabrication, assembly, test, integration, and refurbishment.
- Lead manufacturing and build sequences and support schedule development throughout the manufacturing process.
- Perform engineering drawing review and provide final approval for manufacturing.
- Develop process control measures and evaluations through statistical analysis.
- Support repair and rework activities of turbo machinery hardware.
- Design, procure, install, and integrate custom manufacturing equipment.
- Collaborate with external suppliers and partners to ensure proper manufacturing and delivery of hardware.
- Support root‑cause analyses for non‑conformances and deploy corrective actions.
- Design material handling and packaging to protect hardware throughout build and test.
- Maintain hardware configuration and pedigree throughout the build and test process.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
- At least 3 years of applicable experience.
- Strong engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing.
- Direct experience manufacturing hardware (castings, forgings, additive manufacturing, welding, machining, cleaning, NDT, tight tolerance assembly, leak testing, final acceptance testing).
- Experience developing or starting new manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in CAD, scheduling, issue tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; strong written and technical communication skills.
- Direct turbo machinery manufacturing and engineering experience in any industry (rocket engines, jet engines, land‑based gas turbines, oil & gas, automotive, etc.).
