Why This is an Exciting Role:
As a Systems Engineer at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A), this position will be supporting the GMD Engineering Development and Early Integration Labs for the Missile Defense Agency. In this role, you will be a Systems Engineer responsible for lab integration representing GMD products with a focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux efforts. You will assist in lab build‑up and execution of GMD Lab integration for the upgrades, both hardware and software, of all GMD elements and be positioned to support lab integration team flow down requirements, critical testing, and development in different lab environments.

To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience:

• Experience collaborating with teams of engineers, system administrators, network engineers, product subject matter experts, and subcontractors to coordinate all phases of development and integration.
• Best practices for engineering development and configuration management.
• Provide comprehensive end‑to‑end computing support in closed environments, from desktops to servers.
• Upgrading, installing, and configuring application software and computer hardware.
• Creating and managing system permissions and user accounts.
• Performing regular security tests and security monitoring.
• Maintaining networks and network file systems.
• Coordinating security‑relevant changes of both hardware and software components, and network with the ISSO for compliance.
• Working effectively, and semi‑autonomously, in a rapid‑pace team environment.
• Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering support for Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) servers/workstations.
• Managing local servers and virtual machines (Azure, VMWare).
• Implementing Security Technical Implementation Guide(s) (STIGS).

• Level 2:
  Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g., Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, standard.
