Sr. Specialist, Project Engineering
Job Location: Huntsville, AL
Job Schedule: 9/80: 9 hours every 14 days (80 hours total) – every other Friday off.
Job Description: This role, located at L3
Harris Technologies in Huntsville, AL, involves performing and coordinating propulsion program tasks with program management. Responsibilities include implementing design and analysis tasks, overseeing special studies and experiments, managing new suppliers establishing production lines, and traveling to suppliers (approximately 25% travel). A background in manufacturing processes is highly sought after.
- Apply principles of engineering and project management methods.
- Use standard engineering tools and practices.
- Operate engineering test equipment, CAD, and related computer applications.
- Understand rocket propulsion components and the theory of operation.
- Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes.
- Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Read, interpret, and write specifications and technical drawings.
- Conduct technical and programmatic risk assessments.
- Interpret and evaluate engineering problems and statements.
- Use a variety of test and measurement equipment to interpret data.
- Obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
- Travel as required (approximately 25%; international travel may be necessary).
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of Project Engineer experience, or a graduate degree with a minimum of 4 years, or an equivalent of 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Two or more years of experience with solid propellant propulsion projects.
- Experience working with manufacturing processes.
- Experience collaborating with suppliers to meet technical requirements.
- Proficiency in CAD.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
