Dynetics, a Leidos Company, is seeking a talented Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to join a diverse team creating unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Dynetics provides responsive, cost‑effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
Dynetics is seeking a GNC Engineer to support developmental efforts for guidance, navigation, and control of air, land, and sea launched flight systems. As a result of recent growing programs, such as the AGM-190/A Small Cruise Missile, US SOCOM’s GBU 69/B Small Glide Munition, multiple Hypersonic Missile programs, DARPA’s Gremlins program, and other rapid development efforts.
Dynetics is looking for a GNC Engineer who is experienced with flight vehicles, guided munitions, and/or UAS systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze guidance, navigation and autopilot algorithms.
- Implement algorithms in 6
DOF simulations, HWIL facilities, and operational flight software. - Conduct trade studies for design decisions.
- Develop techniques to assess, validate and verify performance.
- Support flight tests with pre‑flight predictions and post‑flight analyses.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics plus 2 or more years of work or graduate level research experience with feedback control system design, trajectory optimization, guidance, navigation, and/or optimal estimation.
- Strong math skills in linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, and trigonometry and coordinate transformation.
- Must be experienced in MATLAB, Simulink, and C/C++ programming.
- Solid technical communication skills and ability to work in both collaborative team environments and independently.
- Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to work on-site at the Huntsville, AL office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity/experience with DoD digital engineering paradigm.
- Experience in terrestrial navigation, SAASM, M-Code, and GPS‑denied operations.
- MS degree or higher is strongly desired.
