As Needed Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Engineering Technician IV located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL . Astrion has worked extensively with the Missile Sensor Test Division where it has earned a reputation for on-time delivery of high-quality products tailored to the needs of its clients. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
* Must have 7 years of applicable experience supporting engineering, design, or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; or 3 years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and 4 years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area; and the following additional requirements:
* At least 6 years of the 7 years' experience must include successful completion of vocational/military/technical school training in practical or industrial arts and a minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical fabrication and structural/fixture setup supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.
* Thorough, detail oriented, and organized, with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at once.
* Self-motivated and independent thinker with out-of-the-box ideas.
* Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
* Must have high school diploma or GED. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
* Will need to have experience operating military equipment.
* Military munitions and arms experience.
* Familiar with Standard Operating Procedures.
* Have experience initiating safe plans of actions.
* Able to lead, participate, or provide input to a team of technicians.
* Experience working with engineers and senior management required.
* Exceptional customer relationship management is highly desirable. RESPONSIBILITIES
* New hire will be capable of operating heavy equipment.
* Able to lift 75 pounds.
* Willing to work in adverse weather conditions.
* Technician will operate machinery to include - Class VII and below forklifts, drive tanks, operate earth moving equipment, hold or obtain Class A CDL w/hazmat endorsement.
* Welding and/or mechanical skills will be utilized daily.
* This individual must be able to read, understand and adhere to all applicable SOP's and TSRA's.
