Description
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining a safe, environmentally responsible, and compliant workplace. They will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing EHS programs, policies, and procedures to protect the well-being of employees, minimize environmental impact, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
- Direct and oversee New Hire Safety orientation.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address compliance issues.
- Conduct safety inspections and accident reports identifying root cause and ensure implementation of corrective actions.
- Maintain a standardized record keeping system for all accidents with review and follow-up.
- Provide EHS training and educational programs to employees and management.
- Perform routine tasks such as project safety plans, job hazard analyses, incident investigations, workplace observations and ensuring safety equipment is maintained.
- Identify workplace hazards, assess risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Manage and monitor hazardous materials and waste disposal in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
- Collect and analyze EHS data to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Report safety performance to EHS Manager and EHS Supervisor.
- 2+ years of related work experience preferred.
- Minimum of 30 Hour General Industry Card, Degree preferred.
- Proficiency is EHS regulations and standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and environmental protection.
- Experience in EHS roles in a similar industry is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs individually or up to 50 lbs in tandem.
- Able to sit, stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time during working hours.
