RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:- Managing a group of aerodynamic and thermal analysts that are supporting the NGI program.
- Providing oversight, mentoring, career development, and training to 10-15 employees
- Representing the organization in design reviews and to outside contracts/customers
- Supporting test definition, requirements, monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis while understanding and incorporating other applicable mechanical (thermal, dynamic, materials, etc…) and system level requirements/parameters into the analyses
- Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional product development team environment
- Fundamental understanding of aerospace vehicle structures, mechanisms, thermal products, materials and processes
- Experience with aerospace vehicle flight hardware design, analysis, manufacture, or test and integration
- Demonstrated ability to drive hardware production activities through delivery to the program
- Extensive experience with spacecraft aerodynamic and thermal test methods including wind tunnel, thermal vacuum, TPS erosion and static test fire
- Proficiency in application of finite element analysis principles as well as CFD analysis
- Experience with thermal analysis tools such as NX Simcenter, Thermal Desktop, etc. and Aero CFD tools such as Loci/CHEM, CFD++, ANSA, Pointwise, etc.
- Experience leading a team including the ability to organize, motivate, and lead groups of engineering personnel
Skills:
- A Master's degree is strongly preferred for this position
- Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment
- Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently
- Creativity/innovation to tackle issues related to anomalous performance of any aspect of a mechanical system
- Willingness to mentor junior analysts
- Demonstrated full spectrum leadership competencies including communicating with positive impact, developing enduring relationships, making effective decisions, delivering value, building organizational talent, creating an inclusive environment, and being accountable.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. - Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
