This team is part of Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) System Engineering & Integration (SE&I). The SE&I National Team is a formal consortium of major aerospace companies that provides the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) with balanced, integrated, and best‑of‑industry products and services for efficiently solving the challenges and complexities of missile defense.

The team is responsible for delivering system‑level concepts, architectures, requirements, and assessments to enable the development and deployment of incremental upgrades to America’s Missile Defense System.

Position Responsibilities
  • Lead cross‑functional teams to develop system level architecture and requirements to influence MDA incremental capability.
  • Use Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to evaluate architectural impacts through functional and behavior analysis for the defeat of conventional and advanced threats (i.e., ballistic, aero‑maneuvering, hyper‑glide, countermeasures, etc.) systems within the MDA mission areas.
  • Collaborate in an MBSE environment to develop system‑of‑systems requirements via system/component trade studies and analysis, and lead the development of Change Notices (CNs) to MDA’s system specification to include functional, interface, and performance requirements, architectural models, interface definitions, and support traceability verification from system to element level requirements.
  • Develop and deliver products (i.e., technical briefings, CNs) to support internal and MDA stakeholder reviews.
  • Work in close coordination with the customer.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 9+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
  • Strong technical background in architecture development, functional decomposition, and allocation of requirements (performance, functional and interface definition) with system‑modelling tools.
  • Strong experience with the use of MSOSA (Cameo), DOORS, and demonstrated knowledge in any of the MDA domain areas; including Ground‑Based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Glide Phase Intercept (GPI), Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sensor (HBTSS), Fire Control, C2

    BMC, MDS sensors (EO/IR/RF).
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • 14+ years of work‑related engineering experience with a Bachelor’s or 12+ years of work‑related engineering experience with a Master’s or 9+ years of work‑related engineering experience with a PhD.
  • Demonstrated experience modeling or simulating missile defense applications or similar domains (air combat, air defense, intercept of ballistic targets, intercept of non‑ballistic targets, space vehicles, sub‑orbital mechanics, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ballistic and advanced threat systems (i.e., aero‑maneuvering, hypersonic, hyper‑glide, countermeasures, etc.).
  • Modeling and analysis experience in aspects of the missile defense system (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, GMD, GPI, HBTSS, Fire Control, C2

    BMC, MDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, systems engineering experience with large, complex systems.
